Post subject:  New recordings of old LPs

As you no doubt know, one can still buy on ebay LP recordings of, say, Tiomkin scores like The Sundowners and Night Passage. That suggests recordings of those scores survived to the 1970s. Would they not be easy and cheap to produce on new cds? And, on the same topic of one of my favorite composers, how about Return to Paradise, a portion of which was recorded on a 7 1/2(?) inch LP circa 1954?

I assume you must have quite a network to track down old recorded scores.
