Hi there Doc, The '80s DuckTales score by Ron Jones is my Number One Holy Grail. It's so important to me I even made an a few years ago, so of course I was devastated to hear the news that Intrada had attempted a release but it was a no-go. I've also been in contact with Ron about it, and he used similarly secretive language, so there appears to be some kind of gag order on why it was denied. I can respect that, even if the mystery drives me mad. But Ron also told me, after I wrote back expressing my despair, that I shouldn't give up all hope because corporations change. So even though I came here intending to ask if there's any sliver of light that could be shed on this, I suppose that might be inappropriate considering this seeming gag order. Maybe instead I'll ask - How accurate is Ron? Is there ANY hope at all, whatsoever? The way the news was initially dropped it sounded like Disney said "never" rather than "not right now". |

Both you and I are equally disappointed. Well, maybe not equally, because I wouldn't have written a breakdown - but you know what I mean. I still think the theme may have something to do with it, because it was missing from the end credits on Treasure Of The Lost Lamp. I'm pretty sure Intrada would have fought for its inclusion but something evidently stopped it happening. |

At this moment it is purely a bandwidth issue. We have about 5 Disney projects on the table with Disney TV but they have very limited time to deal with catalog releases. |

FIVE Disney TV projects?!! Well I really hope DuckTales still happens (produced by Lukas Kendall, Ron Jones champion extraordinaire?) but that is amazing news. I gather the gears will be turning slowly but I wonder what they could be? William Lava's Zorro? Shirley Walker's TV Love Bug + Fluppy Dogs, produced by Mr. Takis? Something current on ABC or Disney Channel? Yavar |
