Hi Doc,

In your first posting you mentioned that attempting to deal with scores that are recorded in Canada. Well you said: "better make sure it's not recorded in Canada."

Are you able to share some more detail? Is it storage issue/archiving issue? Method of recording? Or a plethora of issues?

I'm no doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but I can answer this. It's simply because you Canadians are too damn greedy.

To be a bit more serious, the answer comes down to one word: unions (not onions, those are good). Can't live with them, can live without them. The Canadian branch of the AFM asks too much in fees for their performances. May as well just dump all of those glorious master tapes in a landfill.

I'm Canadian, but I'm not greedy.

I remember when James Horner was originally contracted to score "The Good Shepherd" and prior to that "The Black Dahlia", and one of the two films was supposed to be recorded in Toronto, but Horner left whichever project it was before that could happen and the Toronto recording might have played into that if I recall correctly.
