I just caught ZATHURA last night. Great popcorn entertainment. And it's refreshing to watch a film with an actual main title. The theme kept reminding me of NIGHT CROSSING, with some Horner-isms thrown in. Still, there was a generic sense to all the music....and I kept thinking, what would Craig Safan have done with this main title? |

I've never been a great fan of Debney's but I'm slowly turning and I'd probably rate Zathura nearly my favourite work of his - it's a very entertaining listen with plenty of dynamic action music. The first half of the disc is especially good. I thought the main title/theme sounded very Goldsmith-like, with a Star Trek type feel to it. |

If you haven't checked it out, you might really like SEAQUEST. It's a on the short side, but somehow the album is still a great listen. I love his score to HOCUS POCUS, but alas that sucker is nearly impossible to find.[/quote] I bought Seaquest when it came out years ago, good listen, I loved the show as well. sd
