Intrada announces the CD release of John Debney's score for Paramount's 80 for Brady. Debney, known for his scores to Hocus Pocus, The Orville, Luck, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Dora and the Lost City of Gold, has delivered another orchestral wonder. From touching and heartfelt, to epic and soaring, Debney provides a score that captures the essence of the adventures and misadventures of the octogenarian foursome. They are as deeply devoted to each other in equal parts as they are to football player Tom Brady. At its core, it's a score that provides the soul of these women grappling with life in their 80s while also evoking the playfulness that even late in life we all still have an inner child. Debney pulls it all together into a score that is much a reflection of life and dreams and getting older and how you're never too old for life's grand adventures.

Based on a true story, the movie stars Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, Jane Fonda and Sally Field as four friends (and huge New England Patriots fans) that take a life-changing trip to Super Bowl LI to see their hero Tom Brady play. With a quartet like this, chaos is assured as they infiltrate the biggest sporting event in the country.

While any new Debney CD is a reason for celebration these days, this is rather an odd choice... but perhaps it was easier to licence and do rather than his real recent gems such as COME AWAY and JINGLE JANGLE. But thanks either way and I hope to be able to have an order ready by the time new Herrmann CD is out and can be just added on top - this one will be certainly a part of it.
