I have a question about the latest release of Extreme Prejudice.... Why were the castanets mixed completely out of "A Deal" on disc 1? The castanets just MAKE that piece of music! This is akin to the "mixing bowl debacle" from The Challenge! Doug? Roger? ![]() |

Hey Roger! Well, I'm comparing to both the original Intrada release and the LLL release. I honestly can't remember if I ever saw the movie, so can't comment on that! |

Terry, can you be more specific with track numbers and timestamps? I've just checked "A Deal" on both Intrada discs, and on both tracks the castanets come in at 0:40. It's the same on the LLL disc. Is it that you don't hear the castanets at all, or is it that you hear them but they seem less prominent to you? (The LLL disc is slightly louder than either Intrada release.) And are you certain you're comparing the right tracks? |

Hey John! Yeah..... I actually listened to "A Deal" from my copy of the original Intrada release a few hours ago, and the castanets are quite crisp, whereas on the new Intrada release, I just BARELY hear them. Does that help!? ![]() |

Hi, Terry. I can only say that I'm not hearing what you seem to be hearing! Not at all. The only thing I can think is that perhaps it's something to do with your EQ settings or audio setup, but I'm no expert in such things. At any rate, everything sounds crisp and well balanced to me, no matter the disc. |

I have to agree with John. Everything sounds fine to me. It's always great to revisit this score. |

Hello, I purchased the new 2-CD set from Intrada last year before I was aware of the clicks on "The Morning After" (and "The Set Up" on disc 2) mentioned in this thread. Now that I know they are there, I clearly hear them, annoyingly... This release is also available for download version since a few days, I was wondering if the two tracks containing clicks have been fixed for that version ? I'd be happy to buy adn dowload those two individual tracks, only to have a clean version to listen to. |
