INTRADA Announces: BLACK PATCH/THE MAN Kickstarter Music Composed by Jerry Goldsmith To be conducted by WILLIAM T. STROMBERG To be performed by the ROYAL SCOTTISH NATIONAL ORCHESTRA https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/12 ... reator_nav Intrada follows its earlier Kickstarter campaign for Dial M for Murder with a proposal to record two Jerry Goldsmith scores. Due to his popularity, nearly every film score Goldsmith composed has been released in some form. But at least two works remain unreleased for the simple reason that the original recordings are missing. One is his first theatrical film, the western Black Patch from 1957. The second is The Man from 1972, about America’s first black president. These are noticeable gaps in his discography and the only way to fill those gaps is through new recordings of the scores. Leigh Phillips is reconstructing both—Black Patch from Jerry Goldsmith’s own surviving score and The Man from the film print. Leigh was essential in our presentation of Jerry Goldsmith’s 1977 score for Damnation Alley, having re-performed the missing electronic overlays that allowed us to present the entire score back in 2017. William T. Stromberg, veteran of numerous classic film score recordings for both the Marco Polo label and his own Tribute Film Classics label, follows up on his magnificent and authentic interpretation of Dimitri Tiomkin’s Dial M For Murder score by again stepping up to the podium and leading the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in this splendid new performance of two Jerry Goldsmith film scores from Intrada! Bill Irwin. That's the actor that Roger looks like under the right conditions. The campaign is moving along nicely. Jeff mentioned "beverage of your choice" for the add-on drink with him. I wonder the limits of how strong of a drink to which he's willing to commit. |

It’s there. If you choose an initial pledge amount you get the option to do a lot of (frankly more interesting) add-on rewards which don’t appear on the main page. Yavar |

Wow! Major congrats to Intrada for surpassing their goal (by $462) so far, before even reaching the halfway mark of the campaign this afternoon! Dial M for Murder reached its goal only a couple days before the end of its campaign, yet ultimately still surpassed it by over $4000. I wonder what number this Kickstarter will hit by the end. Great news! Congrats and can't wait! When is the next one coming?  Btw, when there is next one, perhaps it might be useful to also offer as one of the pledges eg 5 copies... There is a huge gap between just one copy and 30. Perhaps more people might be interested in getting a few and then either giving them to some friends or with expensive shipping fees it would make it possible to split the costs between more people and save a bit on shipping for everyone. I could probably use a few copies but not sure I could use 30. Just an idea... |
