Anyone know where I can find her? Stylotone released the original recording in a deluxe package, which seems long out-of-print. I had it ready for order, then canceled thinking I could buy it later when it made sense financially. Stylotone has its defenders, but I wonder if another label can now acquire the rights and bring it out for the rest of us. |

It vanished from my wishlist too. Being content with what's out there - someone is bound to try again. The "board fade-out" mastering sounded horrible. 30 second cues with a third of it fading away? A joke. I'd love to hear from anyone to defend? I think the epic thread at FSM is another "shipping/ordered....crickets" spectacular. There may have been a couple pages on the mastering...I cant stomach searching it out.... |

Yeah, the fades are especially problematic. If I am to believe what one soundtrack producer of an unrelated label said, Intrada had this score planned before it was swiped by Stylotone/Herrmann estate. It seems that the latter received deference from Universal, hence my concern that another label may not be able to work on this one. |

In tossing my opinion out, yep, the inexplicable fade-outs absolutely destroyed my interest in ever playing this masterful Herrmann/Hitchcock release again. Presenting this music as if every cue needed slow 'pop music' fades is probably the most disrespectful decision I've ever encountered on a release like this. In my opinion, a legitimate release of the soundtrack to Marnie still awaits. --Doug |

Good lord, they did that? They did fade-outs of orchestral film music cues of MARNIE? Really? Who in their right mind ever thought that was a good idea? I would be surprised if even a single person who is actually in the target group of those who might consider buying Bernard Herrmann's original recording of MARNIE thinks fading out cues is a good idea. I'm stunned and ask again: who in their right mind ever thought that this is a good idea? |

I don't like cross fades either. |

This score is cursed. Universal finally brought it to download, though I had to use Audacity to snip 4 seconds of extra silence off of each track, except for the final "Cast" cue. That's about 4 minutes of superfluous silence eliminated. I suppose this is the best we'll get for Marnie. She always deserved better. |
