One of the all time great film composers, what a huge legacy. Sad news indeed... Ennio Morricone has been among my favorite composers for as long as I listen to film music.

One of the more painful reminders of our mortality. No matter how great our legacy, nothingness awaits.

Nothingness? I believe he has returned to the source of gifts and inspiration. The maestro was extraordinarily receptive of his share during his long lifetime.

It's been interesting revisiting a lot of Morricone's work. He stands out as one of few composers whose work I very much enjoy across all eras of their output, from Fistful of Dollars to Cefalonia. Gone, but not forgotten (that is until the human race is inevitably gone).
