RIP Mr. Mandel, and thanks for all the lovely music. (And thanks Intrada for championing his work over the years. I'm glad he got to see an album appear for his Escape from Witch Mountain, thanks to you guys.)

A tremendous talent. Intrada and Film Score Monthly did right by his music.

I've always liked the scenes of the Big Sur coast in the 1965 film The Sandpiper scored by Johnny Mandel. One of my favorite scores by one of the best film composers from the 1960's...
