 Post subject: Why Is Added Reverb So Desired?

I prefer my recordings to sound dry, but I don't mind a decent amount of natural reverb. But why, oh why, is it so desired to have reverb artificially added to some of these film score recordings? I get that some are done through the more meticulous analog process, but that processed reverb sometimes kills the sound in my opinion.

I think alot of it has to do with people listen8ng on headphones.
Mono recordings sound much better with reverb
