Are you willing to spill any details? For example, you could do as LLL has done with end-of-year batches in the past and give us just a preview of price points so we can plan our finances, along the lines of something like this:

1 CD @ 17.99
1 CD @ 19.99
2 CD set @ 24.99
3 CD set @ 34.99

Or composers, decades, studios (besides the one Disney 70s premiere we know is coming)? Anything to tide us through the month? ;)

Wait. There's a '70s Disney premiere coming? That's fantastic, especially if it's a Schifrin or De Vol score as I know those composers were mentioned in recent past. If De Vol's score is not Disney, Ulzana's Raid would be most excellent.

I had asked about The Rescuers, but Disney wanted to retain that one for their own (potential) plans. Everything is fine. We recorded Dial M for Murder last month and it look a lot of resources and there's only so many hours of the day, so something had to give.

Can you confirm whether Mulan is also in that same boat, out of curiosity? :)

Interesting that they let you release The Black Cauldron and (especially) The Rescuers Down Under, but not the original Rescuers. I guess it makes me more hopeful that the Disney Legacy series will continue, even though there hasn't been a new release in it for a while now.

Yes, Mulan in same boat. Black Cauldron was a co-branded release, so they really did it, but Down Under we licensed outright.

Thanks for letting us know. Odd that they would let you have the Down Under sequel score outright, but tie up the original Rescuers!

Does this mean Mulan might be possible as a co-branded release as Black Cauldron (or 20,000 Leagues or The Black Hole), or is it just fairly certain that Intrada can have no involvement in it? (You folks just tend to have superior quality control when it comes to making sure all the cues are correct and complete, so I hope it's not the latter! The Disney Legacy series is lovely and a godsend in many ways, but sadly most of them have one issue or another.)

Maybe things will change, as they often seem to.

In the meantime, there are lots of not-so-popular Disney films with arguably just-as-interesting scores, so hopefully those keep going.

The original "Rescuers" was a musical while the sequel wasn't. It was also a considerably more successful film commercially, although the sequel has become more popular over the years. Probably wasn't the best idea opening the film on the same day as "Home Alone", in retrospect...

Hi Roger. How is Disney treating the later Anime scores like Atlantis and Treasure Planet? Do they have the same holding on them as Mulan and Rescuers?

This also makes me hopeful Disney Legacy will continue. It's a great series and there's still many more to go. I wish they'd be as diligent on that as they are their live-action remakes. ;)
