For those who are interested in knowing, Harry Manfredini has added a note on his audio page (
http://www.harrymanfredini.com/audio/ ) that notates that some of the CD's that he offers are, in fact, CDr's (others are commercially pressed CDs). This comes after him reading here, on a past posting, that you collectors have taken issue with other composers (Alan Howarth) who're selling similar CDs, but neglected to mention on their website that what you were buying were CDr's.
His website reads:
"NOTICE: It has been brought to my attention that there is a concern about these recordings. It has never been my intention to mislead the fans who purchase these. Most of the albums below are personally recorded and are considered CDR's. Many of them have never been commercially released, therefore, there is really no choice as to how they are created. Others have been out of print for so long there are not available. All the albums sound great, and will be signed. I offer these because I am very proud of this music and I want you to hear the many different kinds of scores I have done."
He also says that the CDs are selling well. So being that it's Halloween, go check out his site and drop him a note and maybe buy a CD or two. It's great to see such an accomplished composer, who's much unrepresented on CD, make his music available to fans.
Best,
~ Scorehead
