A complaint you often hear among soundtrack collectors is 'double dipping': having a newer, more expanded edition of a favorite soundtrack released, and we just 'have' to get it. I was thinking about this recently. I purchased the recent 'Rambo III - Re-mastered', basically for one track; 'Carolco Logo (w/electronic swoosh)'. I already owned the expanded Rambo III, released in 1989, but I'm insane for movie studio fanfares. That makes 3 times for me for Rambo III: 1. The original Scotti Bros. cd. 2. The expanded score by Intrada in '89. 3. The remastered version just released. I wondered, what's the most times you've dipped into a soundtrack release, and what would it take to make you dip again? |

These are my double-dips: Jurassic Park & The Lost World: Jurassic Park (separate standard soundtracks and LLL's 4 CD set collection) A.I. Artificial Intelligence (original soundtrack and LLL's expanded 3 CD set) Jaws (original CD soundtrack and Intrada's 2 CD set) Return of the Jedi (Special Edition RCA Victor 2CD set, original soundtrack CD -I missed "Lapti Nek" and the original "Ewok celebration"-, and Star Wars Ultimate Soundtrack Collection) The Phantom Menace (Star Wars Ultimate Soundtrack Collection and The Phantom Menace Ultimate Edition) |

I wouldn't even call heavy expansions many years after the original OST double dips. So the first three certainly don't count. |
