On this board, and FSM, there are hundreds and hundreds of 'my favourite scores/top 10 lists' threads that go on forever and ever. Well, probably more on FSM.

But it occurs to me that I've never seen Doug and Roger post their own lists in any of these threads. I know of Roger's fondness for Night Crossing and all things 1985, but would you both consider doing a list of your 20 favourite scores? (in no particular order).

I beg your indulgence here. My initial list seems so nostalgia heavy one might think I have no love for more recent scores. In all honesty I find most of the current film score scene to be dull and uninteresting. Bland. Uninspired. Think Ben-Hur or Jaws, turn 180 degrees and here you are. But there are composers today who can nail it if the filmmakers will allow them to. So to that end, here are some 20 more favorites in that regard, with a couple of additional nostalgia titles thrown in for good balance:

Between the two lists one can probably see as to my frequent replay habits, I rarely make a beeline to one composer. My favorites tend to be all over the map.

Dull might be too complimentary for a lot of current stuff, it's downright horrible. Goes for all music genres really.

Makes me feel good to see people on this forum who are enthusiastic about real music performed by real people who lived real lives and had real personalities.
