It seems that over 99% of the time I can immediately determine if a CD was made from a vinyl transfer, which leaves room for the very rare case where a transfer is good enough to make that determination difficult. One such case is the Varese release of John Scott's The Whistle Blower score. There are some distortions endemic in the vinyl medium, but it mimics the sound of a fairly good quality tape for the most part. Anyone have other examples? |
