Going on two years later and I just want to say again how much I appreciate this finally getting released. Thanks guys. One of my all-time favorite movies and scores.
Here's how I arranged my playlists for anyone who might be curious. The album edit of "Smile, Darn Ya, Smile" is closer to what's heard in the film so I tacked "Big Kiss" to the front for the score presentation. The full version of "Smile," with a clean beginning taken from the album edit, is added to the extras. All other score tracks with dialogue or that seem like source music, i.e. Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, were kept to the album or moved to the extras (Porky's "That's All Folks" is the only dialogue in the score presentation). I also removed "Eddie's Theme" as that wasn't a score track. Album playlist is untouched.
A couple more thoughts...
1. The alternate "I'm a Pawn" is just delicious.
2. "Valiant & Valiant" is a perfect marriage of music and film. Everything you need to know about Eddie is on display in just two minutes with music, photography and dialogue-free acting taking you through the period in his life that brought him to where he is. Beautiful work by Jerry Hey and Bob Hoskins. Just perfection.
Hope it's back in stock soon for those waiting.
