Assume this hypothetical series stuck to the traditional formula. I'd go with: Bear McCreary. The guy can successfully score any television series with originality and a full understanding of the material. Roque BaƱos. An imaginative composer who can expertly handle elements of mysticism and horror. Jeff Russo. Far from the most original composer, but he knows how to appropriately mimic the best of them when inspired. Christopher Young. Nothing needs to be said other than "bring him back." |

James Wesley Stemple and Alexander Bubenheim should be in on this. Two composers few people have heard of who have done some pretty good work. I'd also like to see Doug Fake score an episode. |

Richard Band. I'm really the only one to suggest him? |

My little Twilight Zone contribution. Director Scott Birmingham made a nice attempt to resurrect the series with new remakes of classic original episodes, starting with the 1961 episode "A Game Of Pool" that was originally directed by Buzz Kulik. He wanted an original score for solo piano in a creepy suspense style and asked me to compose it. Perhaps someday we'll release it on CD coupled with Three Bears Kottage, the score I wrote for a bunch of clarinets and bass clarinets plus flute as a rip-off of - oops, I mean - as a homage to Bernard Herrmann. I poke fun here but at least I can boast my scoring mixer on both was the Oscar-winning Todd Boekelheide (Amadeus), and the sound mixer on both was the Oscar-winning Michael Semanick, who mixed the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, several Star Wars movies including The Last Jedi and Rogue One, Coco, King Kong, Toy Story 3, WALL-E, Up, Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and all sorts of other big movies. I like mentioning their parts because it brings gravitas to my little contribution. I certainly don't. ![]() --Doug |
