As for Thief, the simple but very catchy ending melody known as "Confrontation" was clearly taken from a work done by a popular prog rock band a couple of years prior to this film's release, so I would not attribute the writing to anyone else. However, as with "Graham's Theme" in Manhunter, it is an appropriate and slick piece of music.

The cue 'Confrontation ' from THIEF
was composed & performed by Craig Sagan as heard on certain issues of the album & in the film. It was written in the style of Comfortably Numb, per Mann's wishes. I met Safan years ago and he discussed this.
