I'd love to read this, I'll have to track it down on Amazon when there is a lull in good releases. That last crack is a beaut. It brought to mind something Ethel Barrymore purportedly said on her death bed. Her caretaker was reading to her and saw an article stating that Bette Davis and then husband Gary Merrill were going to appear on stage locally in their tour, "The World of Carl Sandburg." She opened her eyes, skipped a beat and said, "Thanks for the warning." |
