I know that future projects are generally not discussed, but would you guys be willing to notify us if any such scores are being worked on? Just about any '70s premiere from this studio would be excellent.

Even thought it's not a film but TV, I feel compelled to point out that all of the first season Columbo scores, plus the two pilots, would just barely fit on a 2 CD set in complete form. :)

A complete EARTHQUAKE would be nice.

Any of the AIRPORT or PSYCHO scores.

THE A-TEAM, is my no.1 Universal grail. 8)

Any further music from:
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, GALACTICA 1980, BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25th CENTURY
would be greatly appreciated.

I'd also be interested in:
COLUMBO, QUINCY M.E., MAGNUM P.I., KOJAK, AIRWOLF, STREET HAWK, CAPTAIN AMERICA (t.v. movies), THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN, THE ROCKFORD FILES, THE HARDY BOYS/NANCY DREW MYSTERIES, B.J. AND THE BEAR

This is a great thread & hope that Intrada do chime in. All the releases mentioned so far i would love to add to my collection in a heartbeat. I know there is some love for Rooster Cogburn so i'll throw that into the mix.

Yes, the TV series stuff is every bit as important.

As for '70s Universal movie score premieres, there's still plenty of rich works to release from the likes of Charles Bernstein, Laurence Rosenthal, Dave Grusin, Oliver Nelson, Gil Mellé, Charles Fox, David Shire, Michel Legrand, Henry Mancini, John Cacavas, Lalo Schifrin, Frank DeVol, Dee Barton and Bill Conti.

The two from Universal that I would want the most are John Addison's score to the television series CENTENNIAL and the previously mentioned, ROOSTER COGBURN composed by Laurence Rosenthal.

John Williams' complete score for Dracula is my biggest grail in terms of 70's Universal soundtracks. I hear that pristine stereo master tapes are stashed somewhere alongside the Lost Ark in an undisclosed warehouse.

Beyond that: Earthquake (Williams), Airport 75 and 77 (Cacavas), The Sentinel (Gil Melle).

The continued absence of the Columbo scores is just a mystery to me. None of the labels have ever commented on it.

It's no mystery to me. No label has said anything about practically all unreleased Universal TV series scores. Not even mention of beloved series such as Six Million Dollar Man, A-Team or Magnum P.I. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

You'd think Steven Spielberg with his love of film/television music (not just the interplay with picture) and the Stanley Wilson era of scoring would fund to have this stuff archived. It would be chump change to him.

On the contrary. Columbo has been requested frequently down the years, far, far more than the other shows you mention.

Probably requested by the same twelve people, including me. It's still no mystery to me, as there's usually nothing for a label to say until the studio gives the go ahead to release the music.
