Within three days of this being released, it was uploaded to ffshrine. How utterly depressing.

Small soundtrack labels spend many thousands putting effort in to get these CDs out and then hundreds of people download it for free.

If this practice carries on, there won't be any labels left.

It's always been going on. I always boggle when I read posts like this as if it's somehow unexpected....or to assume that that one site is somehow special a place it happens to. It's very doubtful it happening now is likely to affect anything more than it happening five years ago (in fact, I've read a lot of people claim that in the past few years they pirate music LESS because of the ease of Spotify, et al. to listen to things for free or extremely cheap legitly)

FFshrine is more culpable than anywhere else, because it's very accessible, popular and high up the list of Google Search results. They first came to my notice in 2010 when Lukas Kendall was furious they'd uploaded the entire Next Gen Ron Jones boxset.

They need to be stamped out. PERMANENTLY. While Intrada may not have the resources to do anything, an appeal to Disney could help. They're not short of a penny or two.

I got animationsource.org to announce this CD in their latest update. Not enough publicity from cartoon websites for this title... I will see if i can get some other sites to mention it.

This is now in the Danger Zone - less than 100 left. GREAT to see this has sold well after hearing that the TV series music is unreleasable.

A wise choice. I can't imagine it will last for long.

I wonder how many they sold?

I had to, I am glad they warned, I wasn't ever gonna own this set if I let it become scalper meat.

So glad Tinker Bell isn't limited.

I'm waiting for my copy that, if lucky, should be arriving sometime this week. I have been told the initial print of this release was the limited, low number of 1000 copies, and that it took 11 months to sell all of it.. Is this true? That is sad news if so.. did this release really sell that poorly? I initially thought it being sold out meant it was selling well, rather than the opposite. That is seriously sad, considering how glad and happy I was for this release.

That would indeed be sad and not conducive to persuading labels to release cartoon TV animation scores.

One thousand copies sold in 11 months is probably pretty good these days for a soundtrack album that did not have a disclosed limit and is not by a "J" composer. It is a simple reality that there's not nearly as many people buying any of these albums as there were a few years ago.

It would be sad if that were the case, because this was a wanted release among many animation fans and Newman fans altogether, it'd be sad if this release went bad, because it could hault many other great animation releases, which are my favourite. But at least I'm glad to own a copy soon, and hope to get Tinker Bell sometime in 2018.

Internet forums are generally a bad gauge for demand, as there is sometimes a passionate vocal group of people asking for a title that make it seem like it is desired by many.

I wouldn't get too caught up on numbers sold. The thing is we don't know how many copies need to be sold to justify a release of anything. For all we know, a title from one studio may only need to sell 300 copies to make a profit, whereas a title from another studio may need to sell 1000 copies. One certainty is that nothing today is going to make a label rich.

Finally received my DuckTales CD today. I am so glad that I own an Intrada release, now. Thank you for releasing this holy grail of mine, Intrada. Here's hoping to get all of Tinker Bell's albums next.

It was bought in Amazon - but through Intrada, so I guess it's almost the same, took two weeks. But arrived the day it said. Next time, when I buy Tinker Bell, it's gonna be in Intrada. Since, actually, getting the 3 at once in Intrada is cheaper, unless I get customs by surprise.
