Many soundtrack releases during the last years were possible or expanded with material from personal tapes by the composers. Nowadays that especially in television scoring composers often generate the music masters or stems in their own studios it seems likely they also archive their files. But how about the 70s till 90s? Was it usual for the composers to "take home" the finished product or was it more usual to do the sessions, maybe attend the mixing and move on to the next project? I would love to hear some experiences from Doug or Roger on this, who surely got some insights during research for past projects...
