Anyone use a bit of favorite film music as a ringtone on your phone?
I'm currently using the opening big band bars of Mr. Hobbs Takes A Vacation.

While not exactly film music, I use the "red phone ring" from OUR MAN FLINT. |

I use my old homemade recordings of James Horner's CBS News themes as my set of ringtones. The main theme for an alarm, the Evening News open for a phone call, and a 4 second bumper for a text tone. Been using them for years and probably the only person around who does. |

My phone rings to the main title from Capricorn One. Text messages come in courtesy a snippet of "The Helicopters". Both wake me up every time. --Doug |

I tend to prefer abstract sounds instead of music melodies, and have set my phone (currently a Samsung Galaxy Note 4) to use different sounds for different types of messages and people. The one film sound I currently use is for standard notifications: it's the five tone melody as voiced from the mothership in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Has happened to me I was in a meeting and all of a sudden my phone went "da da da dah dah". Made for some smiles.
