Hello to all !

I've received my Starship Troopers double CD from Varèse Sarabande, but I was very surprised to hear a big sound problem on the first track of disc 1. The sound bumps 4 times at 0:28, 0:30, 0:32 and 0:34 as if the disc had problems being read by the laser, but it appeared to be a defect when the disc was pressed, because the disc doesn't have any physical damage and the problem can still be heard (and seen on a spectral view) when I rip the audio on my computer.


Here is the spectral analysis of the track. You can clearly see the 4 series of 2 blanks in the music.

I've tried to contact Varèse about this issue one week ago, with the hope to get a replacement. But I didn't receive any answer.
Does anyone have known the same problem as me ? Thanks for your feedback !

I haven't ordered it, but I went to Varese's website to check out the track samples and there was a notice on the product page:

We regret to announce the discovery of a manufacturing defect that is affecting the audio quality on both discs of this title. Varese has ordered an immediate repressing and expect to be shipping corrected albums before the end of the month. If you receive a defective disc in the mail, know that you do not need to return it as a replacement is forthcoming.
