If you could have one score redone on CD for reasons related to audio mastering, which would it be? My pick goes to Schifrin's classic score for Cool Hand Luke due to the current CD's severe dynamic range compression. |

For me it was for years McCarthy's Encounter at Farpoint but after that one was done by GNP I would say The Towering Inferno |

It's MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON for me too! I don't want to sound unkind, but I'd also like some added space/reverb to the expanded DRESSED TO KILL release (if you're familiar with lots of other Pino scores, you'll know what I mean). |

I checked my copy of Mountains of the Moon last night and noticed that it was unsurprisingly performed by the Graunke orchestra. I say unsurprisingly given the overly "wet" sound, of which I am no fan. There's probably no saving the sound of this recording in that respect, regardless of the engineers involved. ![]() |
