Most of us probably think of composers that we would like to see better represented on album. However, there are a number of factors that preclude this, some of which include lack of interest, rights challenges, missing elements, and so on. This thread is for listing the composers whose work in general you want to see released more often.


My picks in no particular order:

Quincy Jones
Dave Grusin
Frank DeVol
Billy Goldenberg
John Cacavas
Gil Mellé
Oliver Nelson
John Parker
Kenyon Hopkins
Robert O. Ragland

My guy wins. :) Over 260 composing credits on IMDb and only two full CDs (both compilations, one from original tracks and one rerecording from the Tribute team). Beyond that Mighty Joe Young was represented on a MMM rerecording and Intrada released Fixed Bayonets on a Fox Goes to War collection (but that was only twelve minutes long and centered around an existing tune not written by Webb).

For me, there are still 20 unreleased Michael Convertino scores and 40 unreleased Craig Safan scores. Interest in Convertino seems to be fairly minor with the labels which has me flummoxed, but Safan fans can't grumble too loudly. We've had some great releases and I suspect quite a few more are on the radar.
