I picked this up at the Creature Features event, not having any familiarity with it.
Am I glad I did, there is a lot of interesting, eclectic stuff.
Also the first time I've ever purchased music by The Grateful Dead.

Thanks for the hard work in making this available, and for keeping it reasonable and therefore offering a great value (a quality sometimes overlooked when there is an abundance of options competing for our money). This album is an excellent distillation of the classics. |

Many thanks for your work on this Roger. I'm ecstatic about what we're getting, but would love to see more down the line. Still, with the series previously stalling after a single disc back in '98, you've done the right thing not labelling this as Volume 1. As well as the composers you mention, there's more good stuff from Merl Saunders / Grateful Dead still unreleased. I would have thought being such a cult band, they would guarantee a certain amount of sales, but maybe not if the last release is anything to go by. Here's hoping Christopher Young and Basil Poledouris have enough of a completist fanbase to put this over the top. But, of course, it deserves to be a huge success on its own terms, not just to justify a further volume. |

Even with good sales, a second volume becomes a possible issue of significant diminishing returns where the majority of fans are perfectly satisfied with just this compilation. This album might be too good.
