I wanted to say that I completely agree with Doug’s assessment of Jóhannsson’s score. The film itself is quite gripping, and it’s been a long time since I have last witnessed a score that added so much appropriate and attentive tension to such tense subject matter.
A lot of times I see people assess the absolute quality of a film score solely on album presentation. That is a terrible way to do it, especially in this case for reasons of the album production decisions that Doug so deftly described.
