Regarding the time of release, dividing it into time zone batches might help, but it would be a nightmare for you to organize and there would still be some flaws.
I guess the best thing is to stick to your current time of release, and do you rbest to be as punctual as possible (ie, around 7-7:15pm, rather than 7:55pm), which I'm sure you're already doing.
In France, that's 2am.
Firstly, I'm usually still awake, working.
Secondly, I have learned you'd better be among the first.
Thirdly, having to wake up at 6:45am, this leaves me only half the normal sleeping time I need, but I am used to it (so to speak-- I am, of course, not physically used to it).
As for Varèse, 12am means 9am here-- a reasonable hour, sleepwise, but in terms of ordering, it all depends where you are and whether you can access the site during the dat.
With this year's timetable, I can be up and in front of the computer.
The thing is, we are the one we have to adapt, and try and make this slight effort once in a while.
Should Intrada or Varèse adapt to us, releasing their CDs in batches as the Earth goes its own little way, some would fund yet another complaint: "Hey, didn't you know this is a special holiday in my country? Don't you know today is the day all Internet connections are shut off for mmaintenance in my town? Gee, didn't you know I was away for the week to celebrate the 17th anniversary of my cousin's brother's best friends's first canine?"
