INTRADA Celebrates 30 Years of Soundtracks




[Oakland, CA – August 25, 2015 ] Today Intrada celebrates the 30th anniversary of its inaugural release -- Basil Poledouris’ score to Red Dawn. In the years that followed, the label has released over 500 albums, initially on LP and later on CD. Intrada has always celebrated the wide spectrum of film music, releasing music from the golden age of Hollywood to the latest contemporary theatrical releases. From big-budget blockbusters to low-budget horror or art house fare. From composers just starting out to multi-decade veterans. Intrada loves film music and this celebration is as much about that as it is its enduring tenure as a record label.

Intrada's catalog of titles over its 30-year history includes the classic favorites Breakfast at Tiffany's, On the Waterfront and North by Northwest; silver-age gems Patton, Back to the Future, and Predator; and in partnership with Disney, current favorites Toy Story 3, The Avengers, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Intrada’s original brick-and-mortar store in San Francisco, once a destination for fans in search of Intrada releases as well as other movie soundtracks, transitioned to an online store in the late 90s. The website continues to reach a passionate and growing customer base around the globe and today, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, Intrada has launched a customer rewards program for its loyal customers. And this fall, Intrada joins the retro mania with the release of its first vinyl offerings in 26 years, adding the 12" platters to its expanding roster of CDs.

Intrada will observe its landmark anniversary with a celebration on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. Intrada founder and President Douglass Fake, Vice President Roger Feigelson, and the entire Intrada staff will join in the celebration and express appreciation to many of the composers, studio personnel, engineers, graphic artists, and writers who have contributed to Intrada’s 30 years of success. A private luncheon will be followed by a public reception, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the same venue, where fans will have the opportunity to meet many of their film music idols.
