Hi Doug,

With the great MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE set coming, I'm sure people (including myself) would love to have an update on where Intrada stands on
the HAWAII FIVE-O project at this time, due to CBS and the Stevens estate hashing out rights and such.

Please let us know and thanks so much in advance...:-)

I noticed someone mention that Jon Burlingame made note that lawsuits such as the one concerning the series theme usually takes a long time to finish. Considering that, and the internal issues involving the new series, I wouldn't count on this album happening any time soon.

My interest in '70s and '80s TV series music is quite varied, so I'm ready for whatever else Intrada has in store on this front. The Universal vaults beckon.

Thanks for the post. I was starting to feel kind of lonely here.

Perhaps, Doug will chime in and offer us a ray of sunshine...:-)

Thanks, guys. We just don't do a lot of discussing specific projects prior to actually having them completed and ready for release. We work with every studio and we dig into the TV vaults as well as the theatrical stuff. And at four a month, just like clockwork, we keep things hopping. But beyond that I can offer little beyond intrigue: we've got a series of TV episode scores in the works now and there's a major mini-series score wrapping up as well. But with hundreds and hundreds of shows to choose from, it's really just like throwing darts and watching which project the dart lands on. And once we get it underway, we step back and toss another dart. There's just a lot to choose from... so hang in there.

Thanks, Doug! When you mentioned that huge Miniseries score, right away I thought of WHEELS by Mort Stevens...that is my DREAM score!

Anyway, whatever you have coming up, I'm sure it will be great with that Intrada magical touch....looking forward to it and thanks again!...:-)

That's great to know. I understand why you can't comment on projects as so many things can change on a dime. You will always have my most grateful support on any and all TV series/miniseries/pilot projects.

There is indeed an overwhelming amount of content from which to pick. Even outside of the crazy number of quality scores from Universal there's lots of stuff from other studios, such as Kung Fu, How the West Was Won, Bronk, Medical Center, Chicago Story, Shogun, Mannix, '80s Twilight Zone, Dirty Dozen, Starsky and Hutch, Blue Light, etc. A dart board seems apt given the possibilities.

I certainly know you guys have your own favorites. A lot of them are my favorites as well. I also have many I've yet to discover. For example, I'm a rabid fan of the Hawaii Five-O scores but admit I don't know Wheels very well. But one day I shall. I hope to see virtually all of the classic 1960's - 1990's series and mini-series music become available but it takes time. A lot of time. The High Chaparral, The Big Valley, The Rookies, Owen Marshall: Counselor At Law, Rod Serling's Night Gallery, Centennial, and so on. There's literally just an endless amount of incredible music still to unlock from the vaults of all of the studios, and that's just with regards to TV. With movies we've still got an endless stream of Max Steiner, Victor Young, Frank Skinner, Hans Salter, David Buttolph, Andre Previn, Maurice Jarre, Paul Sawtell, Elmer Bernstein, James Horner, Paul Smith and whatnot.

Take that, all ye windbags claiming there's nothing left to release.

Well, Doug, between me and Jon Burlingame, you will get to know WHEELS extremely well!:-)

It is one of Mort's best, as well as an Emmy nominated Miniseries score...:-)

All of those examples are exciting prospects. The Elmer Bernstein-centric series albums should sell well, as should Night Gallery since it has the Steven Spielberg effect going for it that lures in a wider segment of collectors.

Now that we are in to the new year, I sure hope that there has been some movement in getting the FIVE-0 scores released.

Here's to hoping...:-)

Hi Doug,

Could you tell us if there is any news on a possible release of some of the scores?

It has been a while and I'm sure there are many of us who are curious.

Thanks in advance...:-)

Did someone mention Rod Serling's Night Gallery?
