Intrada's released many excellent LPs on CD over the years in the best quality imaginable. Just off the top of my head they've released the LP presentations of The Dove, Bernstein Ava Collection, The Young Savages, The Andromeda Strain, The Organization, Gold, In Harm's Way, King Kong Lives, GE Theater, Gator, the two Flints, The Other Side of Midnight, Crawlspace, The Hindenburg, Judith, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Mary Queen of Scots, The Last Valley, The Deep, The Quiller Memorandum, The Day of the Locust, Sleuth, SpaceCamp... whew! Anyway, what ten LP presentations would you now like to see most on CD while negating the question of whether additional material exists? I'm sure Intrada knows very well what's best to prioritize and what can actually be done, but seeing some opinions wouldn't hurt. I'll go with, in no particular order: Winning (Dave Grusin) The Lost Man (Quincy Jones) Foxes (Giorgio Moroder & Various) Hello-Goodbye (Francis Lai) Fast Break (David Shire) Eyes of Laura Mars (Artie Kane & Various) Night Shift (Burt Bacharach & Various) Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (Frank DeVol) The Silencers & Murderers' Row (Elmer Bernstein & Lalo Schifrin) Miklós Rózsa Polydor Albums |

Oh definitely the three Rozsa Polydor albums...please! And Francis Lai's Hello-Goodbye & I'll Never Forget What's 'is Name, & Henry Mancini's The Great Waldo Pepper, not a lot of music, but great stuff, & I think that lot is all UMG (plus a load more albums). And another vote for Mandel's Harper. |

Excellent picks. It may sound ridiculous, but I would buy just about every one mentioned. I've wondered about the tape status of Grizzly, as well as Jaguar Lives! and Goldenberg's The Domino Principle (two other albums released on the Japanese Seven Seas label). Great stuff. I'm extremely grateful that we have yet another quality LP presentation from Intrada coming next week. |
