All three ISC CD's were from John Wayne films. Perhaps it was only by chance. Perhaps not. What I am getting at is: I hope we don't have to wait 2 more years for ROOSTER COGBURN or CHISUM. Yes, I know Universal and WB are notoriously slow. Here's hoping anyway. |

I got a chuckle when Rio Bravo was released as ISC 300 (I honestly expected it to be an MAF release even though the lines between brandings have blurred considerably), because it supports your John Wayne theory from a couple months back. I agree about Rooster Cogburn being a big priority, though there is a lot of excellent scores to premiere from Universal. It seems that Universal might be speeding things along, in the recent past at least. In just two months' time, there's The Last Starfighter, Jaws IV, and two more knockout titles from the studio next week. Chisum and The Train Robbers from WB are also sought-after, but talk has been that the tapes are inexplicably missing for those two. Perhaps things had more recently changed for the better as inventorying progresses. |

There have been many releases of Rosenthal's scores, some of the most famous came out on "promos" first. I wonder why there has been never a release of Rooster Cogburn? Hopefully the recordings have survived! |
