OK, I'm curious. As this youtube member is using Intrada's front cover, do you have a case for having this video removed? Is it up to the owners of the soundtrack/album/publishing rights to tackle the music side of it? I'm frequently amazed what pops up on youtube and is allowed to stay there for years, be it films, TV shows or music without any apparent action from their copyright holders. |

Intrada was only given a limited license for this particular album. MGM is the rights holder of the images and music in this case. I just ignore this stuff. The kind of people who habitually use YouTube to listen to complete score albums are probably not the buying type, if you catch my drift. |

I search YouTube for samples (or whatever is available) of scores to determine if I want to make a purchase. If Intrada or whoever has samples that are enough for me to like the score, then that's all I need. However, I do understand the need to protect copyrights. Trust me: if I really like a score, I'm definitely the buying type. ![]() |

I frequently use Youtube as a starting point to determine whether it's worth to seek something out, say a film score, or not. If I do like a score enough, Youtube is certainly no replacement for an actual CD. As far as copyrights go... there's a lot of stuff posted on Youtube by people who do not have the actual copyright for those things. If you are the rights holder, you can certainly have your uploaded content taken down. |

At times i have listened to soundtrack music on YOUTUBE, and I still purchase music. At times listening to ALL the music (not just samples) from an album there, I might decide to buy or pass on an album. And some of those posts there give you the film clip along with the music, so you can see how the music was used dramatically - some one even posted film clips from GLADIATOR with Goldsmith's underscore inserted in along dialogue and sound effects - which I have no idea how they accomplished that - a good 2 years before Intrada's release (although the clips are no longer on YOUTUBE now). |

These INTRADA albums that some guy has put up, are still in print!!!!!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7lVsGHI3AE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAiPLPvxnxk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=431MVHWhggA ======================== Instead of videos being taken down, sometimes copyright holders instead can insist upon Youtube putting advertisements on those videos, from which they can at least make some money off of people using their music. |
