Everyone should agree that « From Time to Time » is the best attraction score ever composed. Bruce Broughton has composed a gorgeous, spectacular, mysterious, soaring score. But did you know that 2 different scores, with 2 complete different main themes were composed for the french and the american version of the show ? I guess a complete different score was needed for the americanized version of the attraction, because of the changes in the movie, but maybe this was because of right issues ? You can compare the same sequence from one version to another and listen to the 2 differents themes and scores here : The french version is the most well known and the theme is one of the best Bruce ever composed : http://youtu.be/FD9oD4TVq1M?t=18m54s The american version has a completely different theme, but still in the great Broughton melodic tradition : http://youtu.be/_hDFADaYLzM?t=12m12s This should make a gorgeous CD presenting both scores in complete form. But I guess there are still these right issues with the french park… |
