Coming soon! THE FRENCH REVOLUTION (The Light Years / The Terrible Years) (1989) Music Composed and Conducted by Georges Delerue. In collaboration with TF1 Droits Audiovisuels and Colette Delerue, Music Box Records presents the epic Georges Delerue score LA RÉVOLUTION FRANÇAISE (THE FRENCH REVOLUTION), including the full remastered program of the original Polydor soundtracks (two albums for the two episodes), followed by 35 minutes of previously unreleased material. This deluxe limited 25th anniversary collector's edition (2-CD set) with slipcase includes a 16-page full-color booklet with liner notes by Gergely Hubai. Due to be released in September 2014. Pre-orders will begin at the end of August. |

This is cool news! Those of us that have the two ancient original CDs have been hoping for a quality reissue such as this, especially with new music! Those things go all the way back to 1989 and are pretty hard to come by today. (I don't count the unlicensed pirate that the low quality Canadian label Disques Cinemusique circulated many years ago). Music Box does terrific work so this is really welcome news. I can't wait to enjoy the discs. --Doug |

Great music, great release. There was a claim somewhere that the Polydor release had its channels reversed, but I just checked and darn it if everything isn't in their proper place on my copies. Maybe it was the bootleg that was screwed up? |

Not sure about this Delerue effort, gave it one listen and it just did not click with me. I love Delerue, so I'm sure it will after more exploration. |

I'm delighted with this new set, having enjoyed The Edition That Shall Not Be Mentioned for many years. I especially like the Delerue-performed solo piano rendition of the main theme they included at the end of the second disc. ![]() |
