I don't know where I've been, but this weekend marks my first time hearing this. This is one biblical work that is right up my alley. Beautiful melodies that are restrained and reflective, striking female vocals, classic Morricone discordance... it's got it all for me. And that "Israel" vocal cue is absolutely addictive. It is certainly not the first of this particular choral construct for Morricone, but it's powerful all the same. |

Always has been one of my ten favorite Morricone scores - out of his hundreds. Always will be I suppose, too. It's magnificent. --Doug |
