Does anyone know if Disney plans to continue on with the Legacy Collection after 2015? I really hope that they plan on releasing more than twelve titles for the entire collection.

If it means more heavy-handed compression and brick wall limiting like what was done with The Lion King, then I can't say I would be too enthused about the Legacy Collection's future anyway.

What do you think happened on this one ? I noticed a serious sound problem, especially on the demo tracks which sounded compressed and heavily deteriored. Got them on the spectral analysis: the high frequencies weren't cut off but just poorly used ; and some of the score tracks had a strong hiss on them, around 16 kHz. I think those problems don't come from a bad manipulations from the WDR technicians, only a limitation from the original material.
I didn't notice any saturation whatsoever, just some heavy moments in the new action cues, mixed near from saturation (it's said "additional score mixed at Remote Control Productions"). We can safely say this won't happen on The Little Mermaid or Pocahontas, since those won't be mixed at the RC studio. And it won't certainly happen to Mary Poppins or Sleeping Beauty, because those ones have already been mastered for CD in complete form by the great Randy Thornton and his team (including Shawn Murphy and Bruce Botnick on Mary Poppins).

I'm kind of surprised that Disney is going its own way with the Legacy Collection rather than working with Intrada on the releases. Will the distinction be that Disney Legacy Collection will only touch expanded rereleases and Disney/Intrada anything previously unreleased?

I think Legacy focuses on the crown jewels of the Disney library.

I think the question now is, is Mulan considered a crown jewel? :)

I'm just glad that the Disney stuff that I like most by far are now known by 43 people, and are considered as tin cans rather than crown jewels. No waiting for arbitrary anniversaries, and Intrada will likely handle all of their album productions.

Thanks Roger, that sounds like a good division of labour :)

I'm willing to invest in getting Robert Brunner's Dexter Riley scores released. How much will it take?
