I've been watching (again) this great film on DVD and I followed it up by reading about it on ImDB. The trivia section stated that Jerry Goldsmith replaced Elmer Bernstein as composer. Did Elmer ever write any music for the film? If he did is there any chance of CD of it coupled with an expanded release of Jerry's terrific score?

Everything I've read points to Elmer merely rejecting the offer due to another commitment.

And an expansion of Goldsmith's score would probably come from Varese as they appear to continually be the album's rights holder. This is made evident by them selling it on iTunes.
