You folks may have noticed we never put stuff up for auction. We just price it as best as we can gauge things in the marketplace and leave it at that. I'm personally not a fan of pitting people against each other in bidding wars just to bleed the last friggin' penny out of them. Sure, if we've got something rare it'll be pricey. But it'll have a price tag on it. No blood. I must say, I've seen some pretty greedy postings on eBay from collector/investors and even other so-called "dealers" who buy up limited titles merely to crank up the price in auctions down the line. Just not our style around here. --Doug |

I have never sold any CDs through eBay yet and so -- obviously -- never bought any CDs with the intent to sell them via eBay. However, for various reasons I happen to have accumulated doubles of some of my CDs. Obviously, the surplus copies are just collecting dust in some dark shelf. I usually prefer to trade them with collectors for something else. (As a general rule of thumb: something rare for something rare, something common for something common.) But some day (in the not too far future) I have to get rid of some of this stuff, so I might just sell it at eBay. (These days I am actually throwing out a lot of "old stuff", mostly clothes I will never wear any more, or furniture I just don't need any more.) Some of the CDs I have doubled up are not rare (like Horner's Braveheart or McNeely's recording of Vertigo), other CDs actually are (there is a surplus The Wind And The Lion there, for example), and all of them should be out there in somebody else's shelf, because I only need one copy of each. |
