Alexandre Desplat's - Lies & Alibis

With Desplat being one of the names mentioned with the new Harry Potter movie, I wanted to know and hear more about him. I have and enjoy The Golden Compass and have heard a few of his other scores. Today I heard his score for Lies & Alibis (2006) (by watching the movie that I purchased for $2 (sealed) for nothing more than Desplats name in the credits, the movie was not so great), but would like to know what anyone else thinks of this score. It is nothing like The Golden Compass, but it does show a different style of Desplat?

Any thoughts?

The bits and pieces of his other works that I have heard are a lot like Lies & Alibis, and I prefer his bigger orchestra works like TGC.

Can anyone recommend other score of his that are similar to The Golden Compass?
