INTRADA Announces: MUPPETS MOST WANTED/THE MUPPETS Composed by CHRISTOPHE BECK INTRADA/DISNEY D002018902 Composer Christophe Beck returns on Muppets Most Wanted after performing scoring duties on the previous film, The Muppets. Both movies are silly, yet with a lot of heart, giving Beck a solid hook to create what he calls an "over-the-top, pastiche-y type" score. With the European setting of this latest adventure, Beck was able to integrate various regional sounds into the score It has everything: action, some Slavic, male-chorus sounds for the Eastern European villain, Russian marches and a myriad of other styles in this frenetic, colorful score. Providing continuity with the previous score, Beck carries over the Piggy/Kermit love theme, but also introduces a new theme just for Kermit. Both themes are nostalgic, old-fashioned in nature, giving the score further depth. Featuring around 75 musicians plus choir and regional instruments, Beck allows for the various parts of the orchestra to shine. In a time when brass and strings dominate scores, Beck allows the other sections to take center stage as well, particularly the woodwinds which are given little focus these days. As an added bonus, included on this release is the premiere release of Beck's score to the previous epic, The Muppets. In Muppets Most Wanted, the Muppets are together again on a European tour, but along the way an unscrupulous manager who is not all that he seems orchestrates a swap, replacing Kermit with renowned diamond thief Constantine. Kermit ends up in a gulag armed with nothing but his charm and wit as tools to help him get out. Ordered !! I've been an admirer of Christophe Beck since Guinevere (2001) and really got caught with the epic score he wrote for Percy Jackson in 2010. It's cool he now gets the spotlight with Frozen and I like seeing more love for his music like on this release ! It's a treat to have both scores on one CD, it's the way to do it guys, you rock ! |

Super pleased to see this and the previous score released. Will be picking this up as soon as I can. Pleased to see it's also available from Amazon.de (with Prime) though it's €21.26. |

So I finally got this, really enjoyable... But anyway, there's some odd credits in the book -- it mentions "additional writer" for certain cues. Does this simply mean co-composer? |
