That's all you wanna say about him ? I would say he has composed 2 scores that really are dear to my heart : "Dracula" and "Le roi et l'oiseau", but if I had to chose only one that would be Le roi et l'oiseau for its lyrism and its poetry. It's such a beautiful, funny, tender and inventive score. Dracula also remains as a very infuencial work. Danny Elfman himself was very much influenced by this special fantastic and dark score in the late The Wolfman. Everyone can recognize what a gifted composer he was. He will live on ! |

I rewatched "Dracula" today and was reminded how this classy score perfectly suited Coppola's visuals. "The Ninth Gate" is another film and score I revisit frequently. He also scored some of Polansky's later, lesser known films. |
