I remember Philippe Sarde working on US films in the early 80's, but rarely remember his name after that. I really enjoyed some of his work; it was a little different voice in a familiar writing tradition and I liked that. I seem to remember that he did further projects with Marshall Brickman, but little outside France compared to the sort of US/international projects of the early 80's. Anybody know the story behind his shift back to France? |

Sorry David, don't have an answer, but I'm a huge fan of Sarde -- especially his scores to THE MANHATTAN PROJECT and GHOST STORY. TESS is my favorite, though. Much of his work outside the US is well worth seeking out, IMO. Especially the majority of releases through Universal France. Matt |

In any case, I don't see him ever wanting to do the latest Jerry Bruckheimer opus. --Doug[/quote] Yeah, but wouldn't that be great? I'd love it if things got shaken up a bit in film music land ![]() I was excited at the prospect of Danna's THE HULK, and Yared's TROY, but look what happened there ![]() |
