One soundtrack I'm very interested in is James Horner's "The Hand". I heard there were complications with this release and I just wanted to know if this release was possible. |

Somebody ought to tell Horner that his score was the best part of that dumbo film and maybe he'll reconsider. Hopefully it'll all be worked out soon. |

I can certainly understand why Horner feels that way about The Hand. How does he feel about Deadly Blessing? |

I'd like Deadly Blessing to. Too bad about "The Hand". Why doesn't Horner want it revisited? It's a good score and I can't see it being something he'd be embarrassed about. |

Being way up in the stratosphere of success, Horner understandably likes to be very involved in the approval process of any release of his music, be it a world premiere, an expanded title or even just a straight reissue. That said, I can say he is also one of the most reasonable and responsive composers I have ever dealt with and he is very considerate towards our tiny but loyal collector's market that craves expanded releases. He has always been very agreeable towards our label, ever since we first worked with him personally on Thunderheart, Unlawful Entry and A Far Off Place in the early nineties. That's why we managed all that stuff like Uncommon Valor, 48 Hours, Journey Of Natty Gann, Something Wicked This way Comes, Cocoon, Clear And Present Danger, Wolfen, In Country, Jack The Bear, Honey I Shrunk The Kids and others. The Hand is a score that has licensing issues at this time and Horner simply prefers everything to meet with both his and the studio's full approval. We respect those wishes and he usually admires what we produce in return. It makes for a very amiable relationship. --Doug |

I hope someday that a proper release vehicle can be found for THE DRESSER, which probably isn't more than ten or fifteen minutes but quite lovely. And the German release of THE NAME OF THE ROSE sadly misses out on some of my personal favorite music from the film. These two early ones are right at the top of the list of desirable Horner music for me. |
