Both themes are beautiful, I honestly can't decide which I like more. What about you guys?

Hmmmmm....... toughie!
I love the noble feel of first contact but I also love the unashamed romanticism of Insurrection! But which is best? There is only one way to find out ...... FIGHT!!!!

They are both very strong scores that get plenty of playtime on my commute driving.

However, even though First Contact has a stronger main theme, I find Insurrection slightly more enjoyable due to the ethereal beauty of the score, as well as the variety in the score.

Tomorrow I may prefer First Contact due to it's sweeping main theme and fantastic Borg material.

To be frank, one really cannot choose a favorite among their children.

I personally prefer First Contact myself. It has so much more of an emotional resonance for me. But of course both scores are brilliant as are all of Jerry Goldsmith's Star Trek scores.

Actually, I'd like to see a Star Trek: Nemesis complete score release from Crescendo soon. They released the scores to the other Next Generation Star Trek films, why not finish the job? I listened to the score suite arranged for the City of Prague Philharmonic's Star Trek Album. I'm rather fond of the themes brought about in that film. A superior score for an inferior film. But I guess that's the case with a lot of great scores.

I love both, not as much as Trek i or V but more than Nemesis. If I had to choose one it would be First Contact - more memorable theme and also love Joel's Borg material.

They're both beautiful. I remember going hiking a few years ago, and “New Sight” kept playing in my head every time we came upon an astounding vista. Yet I also remember how surprised I was that First Contact wasn't opening with the traditional main title march I was expecting and instead this long melodic line that seemed ever reaching upward. The theme from Insurrection is about youthful exuberance and beauty, while the theme from First Contact is about exploration and innovation (the threat in First Contact is, essentially, to Star Trek itself).

The best thing about this question is that I don't have to choose one over the other! I can listen to both!
