INTRADA Announces: A CHRISTMAS CAROL Music Composed and Conducted by ALAN SILVESTRI INTRADA/DISNEY D001956902 When Walt Disney released the 2009 version of A Christmas Carol, Alan Silvestri's large-scale, Christmas-infused score was only made available as a digital download. With many soundtrack enthusiasts clamoring for a CD-release to put on their shelves, Intrada and Disney have finally delivered the goods. Featuring the same dynamite program Silvestri assembled at the time of the film, his score is a wild ride of soaring themes, adaptations and extrapolations of timeless Christmas classics, thundering action and thrills in this pumped up, unique version of one of the most famous and popular Christmas stories. While not the complete score, this 45-minute presentations nails all of the key musical moments of the score in a tight, musical experience surely to kick off the Christmas season on just the right note. This version of A Christmas Carol is a 3-D computer animated motion-capture adaptation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic. Written and directed by Robert Zemeckis, it stars Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge, young and old, as well as the three ghosts who haunt Scrooge. So I finally got this yesterday....and though I'm grateful for the CD release even of the shortened album program, imagine my surprise to see there's NO actual liner notes (not that it's missing a booklet, just that said booklet only contains credits and pictures). Strange for an Intrada release. Great score though. |

It's an Intrada release, but the album is produced by Walt Disney Records, and therefore fits the usual standards of the label. |
