Just wanted to do a shout out for this title. First time I played the CD, I thought "meh" about halfway through, then things started to kick into high gear. Having just watched the film I now appreciate the whole thing. How refreshing to get a score to this kind of film which isn't just sound design -- electronic wallpaper that adds little. And the siren is genius...slowly revving higher and higher as the score progresses and the craziness on screen escalates. Driving action, powerful chorus, powerful themes. Great album!

Totally agree on this one and I´m often against remakes but loved this movie and Banos made his own music without looking at LoDucas music and the new Evil Dead benefitted highly to this. The Siren sound is a cool thing to the score and makes the music as crazy as the movie progress...Looking forward for more music from Banos

I have to agree, especially with that siren sound. I don't know what the heck I'm actually hearing (IS it a siren?) but it's incredibly eerie and makes me a bit on-edge. Of course, like usual, the film itself buries the best parts.

This is indeed a fantastic score. I had the privilege of sitting a few rows back from Roque as he conducted a suite from The Evil Dead in Cordoba in July! Hearing it live with a brilliant orchestra was just tremendous, and he's a really lovely guy too! I hope he does well in Hollywood, he deserves big success!
