I always cringe when Bernstein's great WATERFRONT score shows up in the tawdry 1958 striptease horror flick SCREAMING MIMI. I hope that Mr. Bernstein was unaware of that unauthorized use of his music. The majesty of his score only makes the tacky MIMI images seem even more impoverished than they already are.

I can imagine a movie based on his reaction:
"A film music composer goes on a killing spree after his music is re-used in tawdry thriller. You wont be able to close your ears when you see...SCREAMING LENNY"

MIMI isnt a terrible movie. But hearing the music that's been burned into your brain while watching an amazing Academy Award winning drama (WATERFRONT), it's like a very bad practical joke. It's not exactly unrecognizable generic music.

I see your complaint. But be glad if you didn't have the experience, as I did in 1973, of paying to see a new hardcore porn movie from the director of DEEP THROAT because someone insisted to me that the picture contained a cue taken off the soundtrack LP of Morricone's ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST.

Unfortunately, that guy was right. Now that was blasphemy!

Was ON THE WATERFRONT supposed to be designated ISC 300, but a "mix-up" got it designated MAF 7141 ? Believe me, I am not trying to take away the honor to Mary Ann for Intrada's best release of this year or many past years.

That's fine, Roger. As far as I know it got implemented everywhere. The reason I asked is because when it was first presented on your website on Monday evening it was designated ISC 300.
